The IREO Renewable Energy Award recognizes those at the forefront of energy innovation and is the preeminent international award in the field of sustainable and renewable energy. IREO seeks to honor those individuals and organizations leading the way of global development through renewable energy, with the strength to challenge conventional wisdom and encourage critical thinking.

The ceremony seeks to gather together ambassadors, business leaders, celebrities and special guests to create networking opportunities between global decision makers, furnishing them the knowledge to develop partnerships. By helping to build relationships, IREO hopes to increase awareness of renewable energy issues and stimulate action by governments, enterprises and individuals.

The 2009 Renewable Energy Awards successfully brought together representatives of the private sector, ambassadors from over one hundred countries, and members of the entertainment industry to celebrate and highlight the accomplishments of this year’s awards recipients.
